We're loving this cheerful colour made up in the Bardon Dress, the most recent free pattern from Peppermint Magazine and Elbe Textiles. The Bardon Dress is a playful and effortless sleeveless style with gathered tiers, ideal for wearing to picnics, BBQ's and just about any festive occasion! Check it out below, kindly modelled by Lucy from our Online Store team.

Pattern Review

Bardon Dress by Peppermint Magazine x Elbe Textiles

The Bardon Dress is a sleeveless style with bias bound neck and armholes, a gathered tiered skirt and is complete with side seam pockets! Lucy suited a size C according to her measurements and this took 2.5m of our Buttercup Vintage Finish Linen 132cm wide, as well as approximately 2m of our Gingham Linen Bias Binding - Canary.

We love how easily this dress came together, we didn't need to make any alterations to the pattern or the fit once sewn up. If you're confident sewing bias binding and gathering fabric a little, this dress will be a breeze, with great detailed steps and diagrams to follow along the way! We think this is an ideal project for a beginner sewist.

Find the PDF downloadable pattern on the Peppermint website here.

The pattern instructions suggest light to medium weight woven fabrics with good drape. We think any of our recently released Vintage Finish Linen colours would look super cute made up in the Bardon Dress! If you're looking for a luxe look, try silk crepe de chine or silk satin!
