// An upcycled cotton chambray in natural ecru and light blue tones. This Guatemalan-made midweight fabric has been neatly woven in a classic plain weave chambray structure in a yarn-dyed stripe. A speckled blue melange warp and a striped blue and ecru weft combine to create this faded looking horizontal stripe. This beautiful fabric has a lightly textured hand feel with a crisp structure, a matt finish, and naturally occurring speckled slubs throughout. An opaque fabric with no stretch, making it ideal for shirts and dresses like the Bloom, skirts, shorts, and jumpsuits like the Sierra.

We are so proud to be stockists for The New Denim Project - a range of fabrics produced within a completely circular model, created by a third generation family-owned textile mill in Guatemala. The New Denim Project created this range of woven fabrics by collecting and sorting post-industrial cotton waste from local garment factories and grounding these scraps back into fibre. These fibres are then spun into new yarns again, to weave and upcycle into our collection of upcycled cotton fabrics. This upcycling process minimises water and energy consumption and uses no dyes, chemicals or synthetic fibres. The lack of dyeing gives these fabrics a truly special finish which we love. You'll see a little speckle of history visible in the texture and colours of this fabric! This sanforized, easy-care, non-stretch, machine washable fabric is a dream choice for any cotton lover, ideal for everyday wear.

Fabric Care Instructions | Inspiration on the Blog
Although this fabric is industrially sanforized please allow an additional ~3% shrinkage for home washing. Note that because these fabrics are not dyed in the upcycling process, natural fading is likely to occur over time and with sun/light exposure. The nature of this upcycling process means that textural irregularities and slubs may be found throughout this fabric. These are a unique result of this special upcycling process and are not considered to be defects.
