// The Cass Pant is a modern take on a classic pleat front trouser and is designed to complement your existing wardrobe. This style of trouser pairs nicely with merino tops and button-down shirts. It features a casual mid-rise, zip fly front with internal button tab closure, belt loops, side angled pockets, two rear jet pockets, and a wide leg with a subtle taper and deep hem at the ankle. Cass comes as a single view, and you can lengthen or shorten the leg as you wish! #TFSCassPant

Sizing: NZ 4 - 32 size range. Unfortunately, we are unable to grade size extensions to our patterns at the moment, due to resource restrictions in our HQ team. Body Measurements

Finished Garment Measurements

Please note, the Cass Pant is designed to sit approximately an inch below the smallest part of your waist and there is approximately 6-8cm wearers ease in the waistband.

Wearers ease is the amount of space between the body and the finished garment, and is primarily added for comfort. Typically bottoms patterns that are not form fitting and are designed for woven fabrics will have between 5-10cm ease.

We recommend careful consideration of the amount of ease in relation to the size you choose to make, as well as in relation to the fabric you intend to sew with. Heavier fabrics typically require more ease than lighterweight fabrics for comfort. Please check the body measurements against the finished garment measurements before choosing your size.

Fabric Yield Recommendations

Recommended Fabric + Supplies

Fabric
The Cass Pant is designed for medium-heavy weight woven fabrics such as linen, cotton and wool. We love how this pattern looks and feels in our Heavyweight Linen! You could also try corduroy, a midweight denim, or classic wool suiting. Depending on the fabric you choose, you may wish to use a lighter weight fabric for your pocket bags. A cotton lawn, poplin, or lighter weight linen would work well as pocketing.

Interfacing
Fusible interfacing is recommended for the waistband pieces, the jet pocket jets, jet pocket bearer and the fly facing pieces. You may also wish to piece fuse the area around your rear pockets for stability, depending on the fabric you use. We recommend selecting a lightweight woven interfacing.

Bias Binding
The Cass Pant features a bound interior waistband seam, so bias binding will be required. Depending on the size you choose, you will need up to 2m of bias binding.

Thread
You will need at least one spool of thread for straight stitching, and 4 additional threads if you choose to overlock or serge the exposed interior seams.

Buttons
To finish your Cass Pant, you will need one 20mm front button, one 13mm button for the internal y bearer and two 13mm buttons for your rear jet pockets.

Zip
Your Cass Pant requires one 15cm trouser zip.

Tools
The Cass Pant can be completed with a regular domestic sewing machine with buttonhole function and zig zag stitch capability. If desired, you can neaten interior exposed seams with an overlocker/serger.

You will also require an iron, a point turner, a sharp pair of sewing scissors and pins.
