Pattern Reviews — Merino Layers

It's no secret that our ZQ Premium Merino is a staff favourite here at TFS, and for good reason! It's super-soft, moisture-wicking for temperature regulation and has hypoallergenic properties, making it an ideal choice for babies and anyone with sensitive skin, plus many other beneficial properties that you can read about here!

Now that Winter has arrived here in the Southern Hemisphere, we're planning cosy, versatile warm layers that can be easily added into any wardrobe rotation. We chose some of our most useful wardrobe workhorse patterns from our Make by TFS range, also featuring a couple of Jude Beanies by Staystitch Pattern Co, a perfect scrapbusting project for merino offcuts! Thanks to Zosia and Bianca from our Online Store team for kindly modeling, read on for all the details.

Stay Stitch Pattern Co Jude Beanie PDF Pattern

The Jude Beanie has recently caught our eye over on Instagram, and looked like a fun and useful project! These easy to sew beanies will keep you cosy all season and uses minimal fabric making it an ideal use for any knit offcuts you've been saving! The PDF pattern includes sizes from Toddler to Adult XL, which means the whole family can enjoy a beanie! It's double-layered for extra warmth and features a classic fold-up brim. This is a perfect beginner-friendly project that can be sewn using a zig-zag stitch on your sewing machine or an overlocker/serger.

We needed just 65cm of our Acorn and Navy ZQ Premium Merino colours for our size L and XL Jude Beanies!
